What are Publishing Points?

Publishing Points

Question:  What are Publishing Points and How do they work?

Publishing points are like pre-paid dollars in your Heritage Makers account.  Each point in your account equals one dollar.  When you are ready to publish and begin checking out, you click on the "use my points" button to pay for all or part of your projects.

We used to have "credits" that worked the same way--you would buy a "credit" for an 8x8 book from your consultant and then when you were ready to publish that book, you would spend the credit you previously bought.

Now instead of credits, your purchases are converted into points--one point per dollar, based on the retail price of the item.  So, if you pre-purchase an 8x8 book from me for $50, 50 points are added to your account.  Then, when you are ready to publish that book, the "money" is already there to pay for it.  You will only pay for shipping and any extra pages when you check out.  If you have more points in your account, you can use them for the extra pages, but since shipping is a third party vendor, you will always pay shipping upon check out.

This system works better for us because very often a client would purchase one item, but then decide they would rather make something else.  We could always call the service center and arrange an exchange/credit, but now it's so much easier because the points can just be applied to whatever project you desire.

Also, when points are on sale, you will pay the sale price for the points--but get the retail value in points in your account.  Our Club HM gives a client a 25-35% discount on points (i.e. $30 for 40 points).  Our basic (free) membership or basic + Premier membership gives a 10-20% discounts on points.

To see how many points you have in your account, go to your Heritage Studio and click on the "my account" button.  If you have any questions, give me a holler!
