My mom and I have been attacking the great photo organizing project of 2011. We are using some tables in a spare room at her house to contain the huge mess we are creating in hopes of tackling and finishing this job once and for all!! (My sister is also doing this project, but at her own house and in her own way...)
We have pulled out all our analog photos and are scanning them. We are scanning and photographing memorabilia (some of it I am keeping and much of it I'm getting rid of!). We are adding these new digital files to thousands of digital photo files already on our hard drives and we are trying to make sense of the new with the old. The question we keep coming back to is: how do we organize all these digital files in a way that's helpful? What do we do with them once they are organized? I've been doing some research to see how others organize their files. I have some ideas and my mom has others. In the days to come I'll share what we are coming up with....but first, a question to you:
